Arna Village To Rishikesh Hike

 Arna Village To Rishikesh Hike

Winter season offers its best to hikers to explore the lower hills of Aravali Range.  Summer or during Monsoon season it gets hot and humid it is almost laborious for hikers to hike around lower section of the range.

We all gear up and drove downhill to trailhead. From the gate we walked gradual ascent to connect the trail which is initially going downhill to “The Ancient Temple of Lord Krishna”. This temple has importance in Hindu mythology.

Nature is not mute. It is man who is deaf. The encyclopedia of nature is vast.

Here is checklist of trees we have seen during our hike.

Diospyros Melanoxylon - East Indian Ebony, Sterculia Urens - Ghost Tree,  Abrus Precatorius -Rosary Pea, Capparis Grandis -Tree Caper, Helicteres Isora -Indian Screw Tree, Terminalia Bellirica - Behada, Dendrophthoe Falcata -Honey Suckle Mistletoe, Spermadictyon Suaveolens -Forest  Champa, Aegle Marmelos - Bael, Butea Monosperma –Palash, Lannea Coromandelica – Indian Ash Tree, Boswellia Serrata – Indian Frankincense.

During our break (“Siesta”) we had our hot beverages home cooked Thin Paratha with mango pickle it taste delicious. Paratha it had a shape of French Crêpe though it is not.  And we eat baked sweet potatoes. Highlight of the day.
